Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are ready to go on a nonfiction hunt! We're not scared. Have you been there before? We are all ready to go, all we need is to blast off into an adventure with our non-fiction books.
We are located in a vibrant inner city school in New York.
We are in the first grade class and are anxious to start our extraordinary adventure and get inspired through non-fiction texts. My students LOVE to learn and enjoy reading! Adding new non-fiction texts to our library would begin our new adventures!
My Project
These resources will change my students' lives for the better. It will prepare my first GREATERS for observations, authentic conversations by them eliciting and providing questions, responses and many more. My students will begin to develop an understanding of the features of nonfiction literature and will therefore be able to use this knowledge to help them read nonfiction texts more fluently. Most importantly, they would be able to "spread the love" of new information with others!
As a child grows, he or she adds to their "warehouse" of information.
My First GREATERS will benefit by reading good books that will broaden their informational base and shape their futures. Help us by beginning our journey into the world of non-fiction!
