This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students face the challenges of poverty on a daily basis. We are located in the southmost region of the United States and live in one of the poorest counties in the country. These students, who wake up every morning wanting to learn despite the difficulties that they face at home, are who inspired and motivated me to post a project on DonorsChoose.org. I am honored and blessed to serve them and to be part of their lives. This is why reaching out to you is the least I can do to help them improve and be able to reach and experience the same opportunities that others have in our country.

My students manage to always have a smile and care for each other as much as possible every single day.

My Project

These book collections will impact my students in an incredible way by exposing them to literacy through different authors and illustrators. Students will be engaged on a daily basis while visiting centers or during read-aloud storytime.

Donations to this project will go 100% to students' improvement on academic performance by preparing them for the expectations of the upper grades on reading comprehension and understanding.

I will ensure that each day these books are presented to students so they may have an opportunity to discover and explore new worlds and stories while also targeting their social-emotional health.
