Help me give my students the ability to grow their literacy skills! I've included materials that will keep them engaged, as well as a microphone for me to use when completing read alouds so everyone can hear me!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a second-grade classroom in a Title I school district. My students are eager to learn. They are creative, loving, and limitless. My learners are quick thinkers and love to learn. They learn in both English and in Spanish, so they move through the curriculum at 2x the speed of regular classrooms!
My Project
This will allow my students to get brand new text in their hands that they will be engaged to read. I've chosen books that meet their interests and well as their reading levels. My students also love read alouds, but some can never hear me because I cannot read loud enough for them to hear me.
This project will allow me to meet their needs as well as their interests to grow their skills as literacy learners!
I have also chosen books that continue to represent them in ways they don't get to see themselves, especially in how their differences make them matter.
