This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is fortunate to have the most amazing and special 3rd grade students. Our students are hard working, perseverant, resilient, and eager to learn.

Covid-19 has brought our schools many academic challenges and skill deficits.

The biggest gaps we have seen are in reading development. Many of our students are working on becoming fluent readers.

In order to support the reading development of our 3rd graders, we would love to give them access to printed high interest TIME for Kids magazines that can be used to support reading fluency, vocabulary development, and reading comprehension. These resources can be used in the classroom, but would also give students access to weekly reading resources at home.
