This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very low income and high poverty. We are a Title I school. Our library serves 850 students in grades Pre-K - 5th grade. Students love coming into the library to get new books, they truly love reading and having access to great books is so important.

Our students love reading, but they don't have access to books at home.

They love coming to the library to check out new books. We are trying to get more books in the homes of our kids.

My Project

My students need books to have for at home reading. They are low income and do not have books at home. They need books to take home next summer to read when they are not in school.

My students love reading, and having books at home is so important for their future.

Readers are Leaders are my students deserve a chance to have access to great books at home as well as at school! I know that they will treasure the books and become life long readers.
