My kindergarten students are curious and want to learn how to read to find out more about their world. They need real books, not books that are photocopied!
The leveled library will provide each student with the book that is just right.
The students will be able to read them at school and at home to show their family what skills they have learned. There is nothing more exciting than when you see a child's confidence grow as they read their first book. It is contagious and all they want to do is read more and more. They get excited when they are told they can move up to the next reading level. The level books will provide opportunities to do so.
In addition to being leveled, these books are both nonfiction and fiction readers so the students can be exposed to different genres.
