This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a teacher to some wonderful firsties in an amazing charter school. Many do not speak English as a first language, but they come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. All of my students this year are wonderful little adventurers. It warms my heart to see them so excited to share what they are learning with each other and their families.
My students are enthusiastic, creative, caring, and hardworking; As their teacher, I am amazed by them each and every day, watching them accept any challenge they face.
They love learning in different, fun, and interactive ways. They love to teach and learn from each other. They love to use things from the outside world and bring them into our classroom to learn. Our class is their second home and as their teacher, I want them to have the best at all times.
My Project
The use of tablets is essential in my classroom, from reading to assessments, literacy centers, and even educational games. The tablets allow me to provide access to thousands of books through apps like EPIC! and monitor what they are reading, as well as provide unlimited access to fun learning activities. By having tablets, my students will be to focus on increasing their reading through technology, which is the way of the future!
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student's academic achievement, but you will also ultimately help to increase their love of literacy.
Students will be able to focus on increasing their reading fluency and comprehension. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
