This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I currently teach in a high-needs school, working with 30 very energetic and creative 5th graders.
I have been in the classroom for four years now, and recently I have been working on making my library a place where students want to be. However, my sole bean bag is looking ratty and the bucket chair I have is beginning to fall apart. Students still love to sit at the library on my old dorm room carpet, though, and I want to continue to foster that love for reading by making their classroom library a place they really want to be.
With new seating arrangements, as well as a tool to conduct read aloud activities at the library and not in students' uncomfortable desks, I am asking for new bean bags, pillows and an easel. I want to do more at my classroom library and I want to see my students really grasp hold of their love for reading.
I ask for your help today because fostering a love for reading in children is never an easy task. With your contribution, you can help make reading relaxing, enjoyable, and hopefully a life-long learning experience.
