This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every year, my students engage with SSR (Student-Selected Reading or Silent-Sustained Reading). I always ask students to choose a book that they will stick with and become invested in reading to the end.
At our continuation high school, we do not have a library so giving students options for novels can sometimes be a challenge.
This year, I asked students to select a few books they would like to read and the titles you'll find on this list reflect their top choices! If they're reading something they're interested in, they're far more likely to find a rhythm and fall in love with reading.
Please help use get these important novels into the hands of our kids so they can find the confidence they need to soar as a reader. Thank you!
