My students LOVE to read and to be read to!
They ask me daily, "WHEN are we going to read?" They are explorers of words! Our school is like a family, and we celebrate the reading accomplishments of our students weekly on our school news as well as in the classroom!
My Project
My students love to have books read to them. We have a listening station in our classroom that they may choose to visit during our Daily 5 time, but the books and CDs available are limited. I have a wonderful library, but with the addition of these CDs/books my students will have more opportunities to hear the stories they love!
I believe that more of my students will fall in love with reading when given the opportunity to have a favorite book read to them.
Who doesn't love having a book read to them? They will also gain many skills while listening to a book being read to them. Listening to someone who reads fluently can impact a student's ability to read. My students will LOVE their new listening library!!
