My Students

Did you grow up with books to read at home? Maybe you were able to go on trips with your family? Many of my students do not have these opportunities, so it is my job to try and provide as many of these learning experiences as possible. I believe books are the best way of accomplishing that goal!

My students are full of energy and life.

We are a Title 1 school and many of my students do not enjoy the luxuries most kids take for granted. I am trying to provide them with every opportunity and learning experience I can to help them build a strong foundation and background as they prepare to become effective citizens of our country.

My Project

I am requesting a variety of leveled texts both fiction and non-fiction. The balanced literacy program requires students to read 40-50 books on their reading level before they can move up to the next level. I don't have the materials to do this effectively. I want to challenge my students to be their best, so I feel it is my responsibility to do my best to secure the items we need in order to be successful.

Every time I go out and buy new books for my kids their faces light up.

They simply can't wait to get their hands on a new book and start learning all types of facts and information. They run up to me every day to tell me something else they have learned from a book they are reading. Please, help my children keep being inspired by books.
