Do you remember what it was like to listen to a book read by an enthusiastic reader? You feel excited and happy to read. My students have a unique opportunity to have that through this project.
I teach 23 energetic, enthusiastic, inquisitive second graders in a public school in New York.
They absolutely love being read to on a daily basis. We are located in a very low income area where over 85% of our students receive free lunches. Our goal is to provide the best learning experience for our students.
My Project
This is where you come in! We are in constant need of materials to help our students grow as learners. Our class recently acquired computers which is a privilege in our school. Thus, we have this unique opportunity to enrich their education by providing them with books on cd to listen to. These students love to read and love being read to. These books on cd and headphones gives our students a chance to listen to a book read to them and follow along in their own story books. This helps students read better and feel more confident when reading independently.
Our students really need these books on cd and headphones to enrich their literacy experience and curriculum.
They will have a chance to be read to which is an exciting, enriching learning experience. I want to thank you on behalf of our class in advance for your generosity in supporting our project. Your generous donation will help our students become active readers/learners. Again, thank you!
