This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are young enthusiastic learners! They enjoy designing and building structures with blocks. They especially enjoy racing marbles down ramps that they have created.
During choice time you'll always find a group of students in the writing center drawing pictures, writing stories and making greeting cards for family and friends.
Some of my students are learning English as a second language. These students readily share their primary language, Spanish, with their English speaking peers and enthusiastically participate in learning opportunities that enhance their English skills.
My Project
My students love books! Throughout the day, you'll find them reading poetry, fiction and nonfiction. One of the current classroom favorites is Ruby Bridges Goes to School: My True Story by Ruby Bridges. During our learning center time, my student have the option of listening to recorded stories. However, our classroom CD player is no longer reliable.
My young readers need to have access to fluent readers reading different genres of literature .
Having functioning audio devices in the classroom will help my students' literacy development.
The Portable CD players and Headphones will be used during our center time and during our small group rotations. Your donation to this project will help to continue a joy for reading.
