This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With the holidays coming up, children have already developed a schema and I would like to activate that schema with stories about the holidays, along with activities, so they can better comprehend what holidays are, how they are celebrated, and the reason for their celebrations!
Apart from the books about holidays, I've also picked some books related to emotions and feelings because my class consists of special little humans that must learn SEL (Socio-emotional Learning).
These stories will definitely help!
Last but not least, I also chose some phonics books because many of my students are learning phonemic awareness!
Literacy is the first lesson in a child’s life, from newborn babbles to court arguments, literacy takes place always everywhere!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
