This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love most about my students is their curiosity, creativity, and determination to learn and grow every day. They ask thoughtful questions, support one another, and approach new challenges with excitement. Each of them brings something unique to our classroom, and they are eager to dive into books that spark their imagination and help them better understand themselves and the world around them.
Turning pages, building minds!
The Lemonade War will help my students strengthen their reading comprehension while learning about entrepreneurship, problem solving, and social emotional skills. The Wild Robot will challenge them to think critically about technology, nature, and identity - all while building vocabulary and inferencing skills. Island of the Blue Dolphins ties directly into our California history standards and offers a powerful story of survival, resilience, and independence, which will support both reading and social studies instruction.
These books are not only engaging and age appropriate they’re also tools for connection, discussion, and deep learning. With your help, my students will have the opportunity to explore new ideas and grow as thoughtful, capable readers.
