My Project

Middle school is a time when kids are figuring out who they are, and seeing themselves in books can really help them feel more confident and accepted. It’s important that we give our students access to a wide range of stories, and a robust library is one way to do that.

We’re always trying to make our school a place where everyone feels welcome and included, and adding LGBTQ+ themed books and graphic novels to our library would be a great way to do that.

These books aren’t just fun to read, they also show kids that they’re not alone and that their feelings and experiences matter.

Adding these books will encourage more kids to read for pleasure, which will help them become better readers and love reading for life. It’s also a way to show our students that we care about them and that we want to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. The best part about this library, is that my wonderful students helped me curate this list, so I know that these books will be loved and read as soon as they hit the shelves.
