My Project
The library is the heart of our school and the space is always buzzing with many students who are reading and studying! Libraries are successful when they are responsive to students' changing needs. While our students have access to traditional desks and chairs, I want to provide stationary bike desks to combine academics with health and wellness!
By donating to our project, you will help students improve concentration, focus, and retention by providing access to light physical activity.
The gentle movement of cycling keeps your mind alert and focused, making it easier to absorb and retain the information you are reading. While exercise is known to reduce stress and anxiety, for busy students, finding time for both exercise and reading can be challenging. Using a stationary bike while reading/studying allows students to make the most of their time, integrating physical activity into their study routine. Sitting for long periods of time while studying can contribute to a sedentary lifestyle, which has various health risks. Stationary bikes help combat this while also encouraging healthier posture than sitting at a traditional desk.
Regular physical activity, even something as gentle as cycling, can boost students' energy levels and reduce feelings of fatigue. Establishing a routine that combines reading & studying with light exercise can help students develop healthy habits for life!
