My Students

Third grade has to be one of the most precious grades to teach! My students are all very special in their own way! I primarily teach Reading, English, Science, and Social Studies! I have what is called a co-teaching classroom. That means that I have a co-teacher in my classroom that supports the learning support students as well as regular education students. My classroom is made up of about 30% special education students. Some of those students have severe emotional needs as well as academic. Each student has something special they can bring to the classroom. That is what I love about teaching! All students are different and have their own style of learning! That’s what makes teaching so much fun!

My Project

My students will benefit greatly from a kidney table for reading instruction. A kidney table will help me better instruct my students, especially my struggling readers. I need additional seating in my class that will allow me to work with my students in small groups. Making students feel comfortable in my classroom is important to me.

Also, my classroom is very diverse academically and behaviorally.

I need sensory materials to better meet their needs. 30% of my classroom consists of special needs students. The materials in the Flaghouse Sensory Play Set will better assist my students and create an environment that the students will feel comfortable in and that will nurture their learning styles and needs.
