Listening is the most common communicative activity in daily life: "We can expect to listen twice as much as we speak, four times more than we read, and five times more than we write." I want my students to have the opportunity to listen to books to further encourage their love for reading.
My 5 and 6 years old students attend a Title 1 school, with limited funds for resources and supplies.
My kindergarten students love reading, listening to stories, and reading to each other. I want to give them the opportunity to cuddle up and listen to stories with their friends.
My Project
With books on Cd's, my students will have more opportunities to participate in Listen to Reading. My students spend every morning working in reading centers and often, do not have access to their own books while working at the listening station. This will allow them to have a better selection of books to listen to in the classroom.
Donations will improve our classroom's Listen to Reading Center.
This project will give my students lots of opportunities to listen to stories and have a variety of stories to choose from.
