My students need books for a classroom library that will help them improve upon their reading skills in school and at home by exploring a variety of genres.

My Students
We have a class of 18 beautiful students who come to school eager and ready to learn. We teach our students to be leaders in and outside of the classroom. This means they are in charge of themselves and are responsible for making their futures great by making the right choices.
We may be a special education ICT classroom, but our needs don't define us.
For some students, our classroom is a safe haven where they know they are loved and encouraged to always do their best. Our students come from various ethnic backgrounds. For example, we have a student in our class for the year who just moved from China. Additionally, with our school being a Title I school, many of our families come from a low socio-economic class. Students have the opportunities to receive free meals throughout the school day including breakfast, lunch, and an after school snack. Despite what some may view as disadvantages, our students always maintain a positive attitude and strive to do their best.
My Project
Our current classroom library consists of books that are very old with age and are ripped, torn and/or missing pages. We allow students to borrow books from our library to read in school as well as at home. We need these books so that we can not only accommodate a large variety of reading levels but to also make reading fun again!
Reading is the foundation for a rich academic life.
Without strong reading skills, students struggle in all other core subjects.
Reading an enjoyable book allows readers to travel wherever their mind takes them. They can explore new worlds and take on any character's life. Please help us bring back this enjoyment to our students' lives.
