My students are very special. I teach second grade to an amazing group of kids.
They love learning and growing.
This year they need extra practice more than ever. They are hard workers but they missed out on school in Kindergarten and First Grade. So we have some catching up to do.
I really want them to have as many books as possible in school and at home.
My students come from all over the world, they speak multiple languages. They come from low socioeconomic families, 100% of the students at our school now receive free lunch program. Let's get them extra supports!
Thanks for your support!
My Project
I would like to add to my library books that show my students a reflection of themselves. These books talk about skin and hair and show that different isn't bad, it's just different.
I want my students to learn about different authors and see different illustrators that visually represent the majority of my students.
They will feel empowered and see different role models that they can relate to. Please help build my library with adding diversity to my collection of books. Thanks for helping out our classroom and our students.
