Help me give my students the "Sofia Valdez's Big Project Book for Awesome Activists" book to end their school year as Questioneers, and prepare them for their mission to help change the world.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year, "Be the change you want to see in the world," is the class motto in my "Kids Can Change the World" themed classroom.
I firmly believe these kids can change the world.
My second grade students are future world changers with an amazing set of skills. Within this group, you'll find the questioner with the power to inquire about anything and everything; the informer, who uses life experiences and book knowledge to keep us in the know; the reinforcer, who reminds us of content knowledge and connects it to the real world; the dreamer, who tell us about the endless possibilities; the captain, who keeps the class motivated and at times, in line; and a host of others, making them the most powerful team around.
My Project
This year our classroom theme was "Kids Can Change the World." Andrea Beaty's Questioneers book series served as our motivation, as it is about children who question the world around them, think about ways to make it better, then take action to make it happen. In addition, we learned about other kids, both fictional and real, who took action to make the world a better place.
My students have not just learned about kids changing the world, they are living it.
My students have become advocates for ending hunger in their Mott Haven community. They have begun by collecting unwanted breakfast to donate to the community fridge. They are currently organizing a campus-wide food drive to support a local food pantry. What better way to keep the momentum going than by giving them the latest book from the series "Sofia Valdez's Big Project Book for Awesome Activists" to inspire them further. My hope is that they will read this book over the summer and come back in September ready to change the world in brand new ways.
