Help me give my students a book with which they can start a home library.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Ramirez's classroom raised $449

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The majority of my students are native residents of East Los Angeles. They are inner-city students who come from large families, and many times they have limited income or resources. However, their families find a way to be generous and giving of what little they have, especially when it's to the benefit of their education.
Most purchases consist of buying everyday needs.
But buying a book? Although important, this is not always at the top of the shopping list.
My Project
All the physical books that are received from the funding of this project will go directly to all my English Language Development students so that they can begin a library at home. I want them to practice their reading skills while learning about those who have made it possible for them to attend the school of their choice.
I want them to understand that equality and equity in education was not always a free thing.
I want them to appreciate and continue the fight towards equity in education and life in general.
