My students are made up of a diverse group of children with diverse economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds. I have many students who speak a second language at home that may be Spanish, Armenian, or an Asian language.
My students come from all walks of life, but they deserve an equal opportunity to have resources available to them for their education.
My school is a close-knit community with strong parent support, dedicated teachers, and has the child's interest in mind.
My Project
When people think about first grade reading, we often think about entertaining story books that will capture the imagination of a child. However, people often overlook the importance of non-fiction books and underestimate the interest of children reading about insects, animals, and many more topics about living things.
Your donation will help provide a variety of books for my students to read, especially non-fiction books about animals and living things.
For some students, these are the types of books they'll want to read all year long. It's so important to have these books to also use as examples of non-fiction writing for my students to use as a model.
