Do you know what it is like to be more than 2 grade levels below your peers in reading? Reading high interest, low level readers can be embarrassing.
E-readers can provide motivation to read more often in a less stressful situation.
My students are special education students in grades 3rd through 6th.
They are the next generation of individuals that will power thinking "outside the box." Overcoming obstacles is an everyday occurrence for them. They are resilient, caring and giving kids. Getting some tablets to help build reading skills will empower their learning.
My Project
Motivation is a powerful tool. Technology is motivating to special kids. These tablets will bring a new mode of learning to my students. Students who learn differently need to connect to every available resource. The tablet will be used to read books and become more familiar with technology.
My students would be very excited and appreciative of a gift that will help them meet their challenge to improve reading skills.
Put a tablet in their hands and watch their faces light up!
