My students need portable CD Players with ear buds in order to listen to various books on CD. They also need fiction and nonfiction books for read aloud time.
I teach 20 kindergarten kiddos from the Nashville area! I teach at a Title I school, meaning the more then 50% of our students are in the low socioeconomic status. My school is a melting pot of students, and we house a large percentage of ELL students as well as students with special needs. Our school is so lucky to service so many different students, but it becomes challenging to meet all their needs. Providing my learners with rich literature and coordinating activities will establish the love for reading within my learners!
My Project
My learners would benefit from a variety of literature as well as portable CD players! My students will be able to chose a listening center as a option while I am doing guided reading.
I picked titles such as "Plant the Tiny Seed," "Bug Zoo" and "Watching the Seasons" to fit into our scope and sequence!
These fiction and non-fiction books will provide a variety that students need! It is proven that exposing children to quality literature increases their love for reading! I want all my learners to be exposed to fiction and nonfiction literature while in my kindergarten classroom!
