My Project

In our middle school media center, curiosity and imagination are the keys to unlocking a lifelong love of reading. But for many of our students, traditional books don’t always hold their attention or inspire the excitement that reading should bring. That’s where interactive books come in!

This project will bring a collection of choose-your-own-adventure books to our library—exciting, immersive stories where students make the decisions.

From surviving a zombie apocalypse to navigating the Oregon Trail or solving mysteries, these books put readers in control of the narrative, allowing them to shape the story with each turn of the page.

Books like The Oregon Trail: Pick Your Own Path, Can You Survive a Zombie Apocalypse?, and Adventuregame Comics: Leviathan offer endless possibilities. With over 50 different story options, these books encourage students to read again and again, exploring new outcomes each time. Titles from the You Choose and Choose Your Own Adventure series will spark curiosity, critical thinking, and decision-making—making reading feel like a fun, interactive game.

This collection will not only help engage reluctant readers but will also support literacy development by allowing students to read at their own pace, follow complex plots, and practice comprehension in an exciting, non-traditional format. Every choice they make enhances their engagement and builds their confidence as readers.
