My Students
As my students begin to decode words, they need leveled books that they can borrow to practice reading at home.
The students that I work with are typically beginning readers that come from low income families.
They are enthusiastic and eager to learn to read. They are friendly and respectful. We live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. Our school is a K-8.
My Project
Most of the students that I work with come from low income families. They do not have leveled books to read at home. I will allow my students to take these books so that they can practice reading at home. The leveled books will insure that they are reading books that are appropriate for their ability in order to improve their confidence.
Practice!
Practice! Practice! These book will enable my students to improve their reading skills by practicing at home. Reading at home can also involve their parents in their ability to succeed in reading.
