My Students
#ActuallyIcan - that's what we say everyday! We're a Title one school striving to be leaders in all we do in and out of the classroom. We believe in ourselves, our future and our community.
We're the school that's come so far, in so few years!
From nearing priority status to becoming a proficient school, our students have a strong drive to be successful. We've made incredible gains in our academic performance, and want to see them continue.
Help us help ourselves!
My Project
Reading is arguably the most important skill children can learn - they'll need it to be successful in every other academic subject. Engaging students in that learning often requires the use of fun and playful text that easily grabs their attention.
But in the 21st century we're striving to raise good citizens - children that are students of the world, and that means exposing them to that world as soon as possible.
This easy to read program helps build early skills for non-fiction reading. Complete with engaging pictures and activities, the stories motivate young students to want to read. With this project, students will learn about current events while learning and practicing targeted reading skills AND having fun at the same time. Help us on our journey to Read Around the World!
