My Students
The students in my class are a bright bunch who really look forward to learning about art, science, math and language arts.
Our school in Richmond, California, is considered high poverty and has a diverse student population.
In fact, our school is one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the Bay Area.
My Project
These Teachers Pay Teachers phonics fluency passages are the perfect way for students to practice reading for fluency. After we've learned a phonics pattern, students can read, re-read, and illustrate to show understanding.
These types of passages are great for small group practice to target skills students need extra help with.
I like that these passages work on the long and short vowel phonics patterns that we are learning in class. In addition, we can add in an art lesson and make the passages more meaningful as the students will illustrate each passage on their own.
