My students are an amazing group of kids. They are enthusiastic about school and embrace everything we do in class. They love reading, P.E., math, and science. Our school is a Kindergarten through Eighth grade school located in rural California. It serves 450 students. Our school is surrounded by forests and mountains and has daily visitors such as geese, turkeys, and deer.
Our school has a strong academic and athletic culture.
I want to maintain our strength in these areas by continuing to provide materials to enrich my students' experiences.
My Project
Please help me get books with titles including My Weird School and National Geographic readers on Bats, to read as a whole class to supplement our reading program.
We have been using our current reading program for a couple of years.
We are now seeing where we can supplement our program with good literature. I am requesting books that we will read as a whole class. The books chosen go along with the units in our reading program, such as informational text and fiction. Students will read the books and then take tests on the stories, write informational essays and read the books in books clubs. Students will be able to improve on their fluency and comprehension with this in-depth study of these stories.
