My project needs 20 book titles, such as Jake's 100th Day of School and The Recess Queen, to begin to build a classroom library of quality, age-appropriate books.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a wonderful community of children who don't have read alouds at home. Many parents do not speak English and thus the children are not exposed to a variety of words and language usage that other children naturally come to school with.
I went to a workshop and was given a wealth of information of books that would help raise the bar for knowledge for my students. I am looking for a class library of these books that I can share over and over with, with my class and thus introduce them to many authors and the crafts that these authors use.
The students can then read the books themselves and then have a list of authors that they can go to the library and look for more books they have written. I am very excited about this proposal and hope to find someone who would want to help make a difference in the reading abilities of my students.
