This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My primary students are energetic learners who have a thirst for learning. They have a love of books that I continuously want to feed into!

My young learners are still learning about the world around them with holidays, celebrations, and seasons changing.

They like to move, they love to read, and love lots of positive attention. Many of them receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Luckily, from the minute they walk into our school, I focus on their future and make sure I meet all their needs. As their teacher, I try my best to be creative and positive, hoping to inspire my young learners to continue on a path of academic achievement.

It is important that I bring books into our library that engage students throughout the year. Students will be more excited to read a book or listen to a read aloud if they can relate to the content. I also want to expose them to ideas they may not have heard about. Carving pumpkins, understanding animals hibernating are just a few things they have not heard of before. Using seasonal books is a great way to connect to those unknown ideas.

These books will be great from fall through summer!
