This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All of my students are full of energy and have an excitement for learning. They appreciate the little things, which makes teaching so amazing. I can show my class a picture of something so simple, and they come up with tons of questions and observations.

My 26 students are amazing kids and aim to always have a growth mindset.

My school is a Title I school and works as a team. We strive to see growth in each and every one of our students and, in order for that, they need to receive the best education and differentiated instruction. I believe I could make that difference in each of my first graders, and I am excited to see what the growth and hard work my class accomplishes this year and future years.

My Project

As a third-year teacher, I am still trying to gain as many read aloud books as I could that will teach the kids life lessons! I have been working extra hard this year to get my students to become readers and enjoy reading while learning from home. It has been a challenge to get the kids to pick up books on their own when not on google meet with me. I believe if I have a good collection of stories to read to the kids online, they will want to look for books online that they can read or listen to. These books I am asking for, will also be available for the kids to read in the classroom when we go back in person and on a display. I have been playing read aloud books on Youtube for the kids to listen to, but it is not the same when their teacher isn't reading it. I would make my own videos of me reading these books for my kids to listen to. My classroom could always use some extra engaging books!!
