My students need various read-alouds to help better relate to, appreciate, and understand literature based instruction.

My Students

The students I teach come from an area that over the years has been a high poverty, high crime area. It is my goal to change that stigma and help give them the best of every opportunity that I can whether it be by providing basics, or new opportunities.

The students I teach are eager to learn, and soak up new information like sponges.

All 20 of them keep me on my toes at all parts of the day. I wouldn't trade my time with them for anything!

My Project

As a teacher my goal is to incorporate as many Common Core Standards, and real life events with fun and engaging read-alouds. When the topic is taught with a fun book it is much more exciting for the students.

Whether it be talking about elections and integrating it with a writing about why their teacher should be president, or teaching cause and effect with the "If You Give a Mouse a...." series, learning can be fun with great teacher read-alouds.

Often times these very books are in high demand and nearly impossible to get a copy of, whether it be from the public library or the school library. With your help, we can add these books to our very own classroom library and not have to worry about it being available when we need it.
