This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students belong to a very small Title I school in the largest school districts in Florida. My classroom is shared between twenty-five very inquisitive, 1st-5th grade gifted students. All of whom love to read, learn, and explore.
These kids come from very diverse backgrounds and deserve the best education I can provide. The desire to learn and excel from each student is something I admire and love to witness as their enrichment teacher.
I have worked extremely hard providing my classroom with as many learning materials as possible; however, there are a few that we need some assistance obtaining.
My Project
There is something special about using a read-aloud as an introduction before a new math concept, or using it to sum up a science lesson.
This year a goal of mine has been to use more read-aloud books in my math and science lessons to bring the curriculum to life and spark their curiosity.
All my students, regardless of the grade-level, LOVE to be read to. As a resource teacher, using the books will assist me in integrating reading with math and science . By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve student engagement and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
