My 4th grade students are enthusiastic and motivated to learn! They are sponges for new information.
They love to read all types of books especially nonfiction and graphic novels.
My students are diverse learners. Many come from countries such as Africa, Burma, and Nepal.
My Project
Scholastic News and Story Works will give my students access to reading material on their level. Many of my students are reading below grade level and do not have access to quality reading material in their homes. My desire is to expose my students to both fiction and nonfiction text to increase their reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, reading fluency, and grammar skills. Students will use both during class and at home. Both of these magazines will increase students knowledge about science and social studies in a fun and engaging way.
