Every year my class is filled with wonderful eager kindergartners from unique backgrounds. They are constantly excited to learn new things and expand their knowledge through learning and play. They may have not known each other before but they are building amazing relationships with each other even while learning remotely.
My class will consist of up to 25 amazing students ready to learn.
Of these children, many are English Language Learners experiencing school for the first time but this doesn't stop them from trying new things and immersing themselves in everything they do.
My Project
Kindergarteners tend to come in with a very basic knowledge of letters and sounds, some with none at all. With this structured curriculum they will be able to advance as readers. It includes videos for them to follow, and provides a clear understanding of letters, sounds, and how they work together to form words. The Science of Reading emphasizes a program like this and how important it is for students. With this program I feel confident that I will be helping my students understand and play with phonics in a enjoyable but systematic way.
