My Students
My dynamic diverse learning students are eager to learn! My students are amazing and nothing stops them from trying their hardest and exceeding expectations. My students reside and attend school in an urban area. The students at my school come from diverse backgrounds and many represent low socioeconomic statuses. My students all receive special education services for disabilities that range from autism to learning disabled. Despite the many challenges they may face, they come to our school eager and ready to learn.
My Project
Over the years, I have seen the powerful impact meaningful literature can have on student engagement and excitement toward learning. As a school social worker, my essential goal is to support my students’ academic and social emotional needs. I am requesting engaging books that provide essential information on high school readiness, self-esteem, life skills, art therapy, and mindfulness.
This selection of valuable books will provide my students with essential information on the importance of having self-esteem, problem solving skills, resilience, life skills, and mindfulness.
Social emotional learning provides students with valuable knowledge that will serve them for a life time.
With your support and generosity, these books will reaffirm to my students that kindness does exist. I am excited to have the opportunity to start new and engaging projects centered around high school readiness, self-esteem, life skills, art therapy, and mindfulness. I will also incorporate differentiated instruction, common core learning standards, and social emotional learning standards. After working on each concept, my students will utilize graphic organizers, hands on activities, and complete comprehension activities that are designed to delve deeper into the topic areas.
With your generosity, I would love to have the opportunity to expose my students to these great books that will inspire and encourage them to become life-long learners and productive members of society. This is one way in which we make our future leaders successful.
