My Students
My class is in a public Montessori school serving children in K3 through 8th grade. In our 1st through 3rd grade classroom, we focus on academic and practical life skills that children need to be successful. The children in my class are creative, thoughtful, and curious, always interested in learning something new!
My students are creative, caring, enthusiastic learners who are beginning to understand their special place in our community.
I want them to develop a curiosity that allows them to appreciate all that Montessori education has to offer!
My Project
Maria Montessori knew that mastery of language is the basis of all academic success. Understanding how to read, write, and speak the correct words in context so often determines the way students move about not only their school days but their entire academic careers.
Language, including reading and writing, is a critical component to any Montessori education.
The Waseca Language Works and the Waseca Reading Program will help the children in my class learn the fundamentals of reading and writing with a method consistent with the Montessori approach. I want the children in my classroom to feel the pride that comes with mastering the skills of reading and the joy that comes with reading for pleasure!
