Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school is located in Deep South Texas and most of my students come from low socioeconomic status. Some of my students have never been in school or a daycare setting. It’s the beginning of their educational lives and sometimes requires a period of adjusting. My students are learning their letter names and sounds and with this comes learning about loving to read.

These materials will celebrate Read Across America day to get students motivated to love reading.

I would like to expose them to the different types of books that there are and the importance of learning to read. Having these Dr. Seuss favors, bookmarks and other materials will help them experience a different author and his many books.
