My students are stellar, hard-working leaders that do their best to accomplish any task at hand. They are constantly looking for answers to questions and questioning the answers they get in order to gain an even deeper knowledge of the content. They truly find joy in the learning process and are eager to further their own depth of knowledge.
My students are very caring and thoughtful individuals who watch out for one another and are constantly looking to support one another academically and socially.
We have a very strong learning community that cares about each individual person within our classroom and that is all thanks to my fantastic students because of who they are. My students make our classroom an engaging and fun place to learn every single day!
My Project
My students come from a Title I community where resources tend to be minimal. During the day, I often find myself wishing for just a few more, or updated resources to help my students continue their learning achievements.
In the last few weeks, we have seen some stellar growth already occurring through Response to Intervention as a class, and I would love to continue to see exponential growth!
Recently, we have been working in class on improving our math skills through Response to Intervention(RtI) via math centers. During this time, students rotate through centers that focus on one element of math, such as math fact fluency and working with me one-on-one or in small, targeted groups. With the items in this grant, I will be able to further work towards closing those learning gaps through RtI that my 2nd graders are struggling with as they were in Kindergarten when the closure due to COVID-19 occurred.
