Reaching Students in Remote Learning

Help me give my students materials and supplies to stay engaged during remote learning. By having the proper equipment, I will be able to spend my time engaging with the students and building relationships to encourage their learning.

My Students

I teach high school students of many different backgrounds with a shared love of the arts. Our school is an extended day school which can be exhausting for these hardworking scholars. My group of students consists of dancers, creative writers, visual artists, instrumentalists, theater, musical theater performers, and vocalists.

I have the opportunity to incorporate mathematics in relevant ways to the students and I want to fill every moment with things that will stay with them for a lifetime.

We talk about everything people face in life; happy times, successes, failures, dealing with hardship, finances, life after high school, fear, planning, organization, time management, social norms, respect, and self care, just to name a few.

These students are at the most important stage in their high school journey. I am incredibly lucky that I am afforded the opportunity to see each of them grow and achieve their dreams. I can't wait to see what they aspire to do.

My Project

These materials will make teaching about teaching and not the behind the scenes setup. I want my students to be able to login to Google Classroom and be able to learn without any hiccups. The students will be able to receive steady, clear, and engaging material with the materials.

I plan to reach out to them via snail mail with positive notes and goodies.

The students will benefit from these materials by enjoying clear and stable videos with the use of the tripod, colorful and engaging handouts with the paper and ink, personalized materials and letters with the label maker, and a fun way to grab a pencil when its needed. I can't wait to start using these new materials.

I can't wait to make this school year one to remember despite the untraditional beginning and the unknowns on the horizon! Thank you so much for all your help.
