Reaching New Heights Through Coding!

Help me give my students the inspiration to learn code using Parrot drones while applying math and science skills.

My Students

In our STEM classes we work with the Engineering Design Process to explore design and modeling, as well as computer science skills. My students need to develop these skills to be successful in high school math and science courses.

Students in STEM learn perseverance and problem solving skills.

My middle school students are learning to collaborate with others; they are learning to build on each other's strengths, and strengthen each other's weaknesses. These are such important skills for higher education and the workplace!

My Project

The materials that I am requesting will expand the learning environment, affording students the opportunity to move from the indoor classroom to the outdoor classroom. Drone technology is a great way to introduce coding. Students use coding skills to maneuver drone movements through different scenarios.

Drones will offer a unique perspective with numerous applications that cut across disciplines, including science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

Students' interest will be elevated by the use of drones. Their use will help students with the abstract concepts of physics, including distance and time. Students will learn through their natural desire to explore new things. Such lessons are valuable as students assume their roles in the engineering design process.
