My Project
My students are a diverse group of 7th and 8th graders who come from a variety of elementary schools from across our town, state and even the country! Entering intermediate school allows all the students to start fresh, build new relationships and have new experiences. As we continue to transition to fully in person learning post-COVID we are trying to find ways to not only supplement their learning, but support their social and emotional growth.
My core team is putting on a star-gazing night for our students.
We are inviting an astronomer to bring telescopes to allow our students an up close look at the stars. We will also be tying in cross-curricular elements such as mythology and navigation to what we can see in the night sky.
The supplies from this project will allow us to provide s'mores, hot-dogs and other treats to the students and families who attend the night. We hope that by creating this night we can allow our students and families to build better relationships with each other, school teachers and staff and improve overall team morale.
