Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income poverty-stricken area, I have never seen students with so much determination and willpower to make a better life for themselves. My students are excited and eager to learn on a daily basis. They have many shortcomings but they do not let that deter them from working hard and receiving a quality education. They inspire me to do by absolute best for them daily.
They are special because many of their willingness and desire to learn against all odds.
Many of my students were affected by Hurricane Harvey but they do not let that discourage them from their ultimate goal which is graduation. A large population of our school is on free or reduced lunch so it is difficult to get the necessary supplies and technology that is needed to stay competitive in this ever-changing global market.
I believe my students can accomplish anything they put their minds to and will not let the circumstances of their background determine what type of student they will be. I am so proud to be at my middle school with my wonderful students.
My Project
This project will enhance learning for all of my students especially my ELL learners that struggle with vocabulary. We will use the Samsung Galaxy Tablets for Flocabulary and Brainpop that can be accessed online. The tablets will be able to differentiate instruction and provide them the support that is needed to be successful within the class. It is my job to make sure all of my students are challenged and receive the necessary tools to be successful in high school.
This project will give my students the opportunity to have access to millions of online books that are available through our district.
The students will use the tablets for games and other educational resources that will enhance the lesson.
