I need professional training in the LETRS program so that I can master the fundamentals of reading instruction; phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and language.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are enthusiastic and eager to learn. Their families are the most loving and hardworking and do their best to help their children succeed in school. Most students are second language learners and parents are working hard to support their families and sometimes need extra support and reassurance from the schools.
My Project
LETRS® is a professional development course that bridges deep, meaningful research into practical classroom success. The program is based on decades of research on how we learn and teach reading.
The LETRS® professional development will teach me to identify student’s sources of reading difficulties and provide methods to teach more effectively based on the science of reading.
Teaching reading to a student who does not learn easily or naturally is a complex and challenging professional enterprise that requires deep knowledge of content, of the cognitive and language factors that shape student learning, and of pedagogical detail (Brady, 2011; Moats, 1999).
LETRS accelerates teacher knowledge, which directly benefits the students they teach.
The professional training includes:
The essentials of reading and spelling lessons to obtain the best results.
Key components of reading and writing instruction and how they are related to one another.
Instruction on how to explain spoken and written English language structures.
Specifics on how to interpret individual differences in student achievement.
Detailed instructional routines, activities, and approaches and differentiate instruction.
Please help me to receive this training so that I can be the best teacher for my students who need the most support!
