My Students
My classroom is filled with 15 wonderful students who have a cognitive impairment in 1st-8th grade. They are with me from the time they are evaluated to the time they graduate 8th grade.
These students mean the world to me and I want to provide them with the best education possible!
My students are in a self-contained special education classroom, and this is where all their learning happens. They love learning, and I want to help them learn in the best way that I can.
Many of the students in my class are from low-income families, and the things I get for my classroom help them in the long run. I want to provide every opportunity for my students to succeed so that they can believe in themselves as much as I believe in them.
My Project
There are three types of learners, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic (hands-on). I like to incorporate all three of these into a lesson to reach all students and all learning styles.
Touching objects during a lesson helps students engage and listen to the lesson being given.
When a lesson is fun students will pay attention. When they can touch and move things around that go with that lesson, it will be more memorable.
Providing hands-on activities is the hardest to provide because you need to have materials. Also having the CD player will allow auditory learners to learn at the listening center. The space projector will help my visual learners as planets are talked about. I want every student in my classroom to learn and give them every advantage to do that.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
