I currently teach at a Title I school. All of my students are have been diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder. ASD is a developmental disability caused by differences in the brain.
The majority of our assignments are computer based which consists of technology 90% of the time to improve their academic performance.
My students would benefit from having computers since they aren't available at home. After speaking to the parents of the students they can't afford to purchase them. The use of the tablets will be beneficial for in class assignments and at home assignments. My students use schoology, IXL, NearPod, i-Ready, Reflex Math and many more programs as a tool for an academic foundation.
My Project
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them access to technology devices that will increase more effective learning engagement. Students will have the capability to utilize the five Fire tablets in the classroom and at home. Our class lacks technology devices, which is an essential learning tool in the 21st century.
Every tablet that is given to my students will be appreciated and gives them access to different books, visual arts, and mathematics tools that allows them to become more independent and account not only for their academic progress, but responsible for the devices they are utilizing as well.
Students can use tablets for classroom instruction and lessons that are aligned to the curriculum. In addition, students will learn how to navigate the tablet with the teacher and create different profiles that will help with schoology. These are useful tools and prepares the students as well as the educator, during this pandemic.
With the use of the printer the classroom teacher can print out the results/scores of assigned lessons and provide students with charts/feedback that will serve as evidence of how tablets and printer are being used to increase academic progress.
