Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My third graders are vibrant and active learners in our classroom. Yet, many of the things they need to be successful are out of their reach, almost literally.

Many of my students are EL students and english is not their first language.

Many of our materials have to be read to them, but they do not have working headphones to be able to access the audio and get the help they need. These earbuds will give the students the access to their iPads and help them be and feel successful.

We have many books in our classroom, but our only bookshelf is too tall for them to get to the top shelves. The new bookshelves will be at their heights and make the reading more easily accessible and not as intimidating. Plus they will help create a comfortable reading corner where students will feel safe to explore new worlds through books.

The way a classroom is organized helps students feel safe, welcome, and free to learn and express themselves. The desks and cabinets will free up more space in the classroom and provide a better learning environment for students to reach for the stars.

These third graders are full of potential. They have worked so hard to be where they are at. They are determined to reach for the stars, and you can help them.
